Umm Ad-Dardā رحمها الله narrated that she said:
"O Allāh, indeed Abū Ad-Dardā رضي الله عنه proposed to me and he married me in the life of this world. O Allāh, I propose to him by way of You, I ask You to marry me to him in the paradise."
Abū Ad-Dardā رضي الله عنه said to her:
"If you (truly) want that, I will be the first, therefore, don't marry anyone after me."
Abū Ad-Dardā رضي الله عنه passed away and Umm Ad-Dardā رحمها الله was one who possessed beauty and goodness. Mu'āwiyah رضي الله عنه proposed to her and she said in response:
"No, by Allāh, I will not marry another husband in this world, (I will wait) until I marry Abū Ad-Dardā رضي الله عنه in the paradise In Shā Allāh."
