The Salafy Should...

My dear Salafis,

The methodology of the Salaf, is that which the pious predecessors were upon in creed, worship, character and manners; and an acute application of the rules and regulations of the Book and the Sunnah. The Salafis are the furthest people from going against and contradicting Allah's legislation and religion.

Knowledge is taken from its people. (Therefore), stick to the scholars and stay away from the Fitnah, that which is apparent from it and that which is hidden, (that which is directly and indirectly connected to it).

Be diligent in striving to unite the word and hearts (of the Salafis), because they are the people of the Sunnah and Jamaa'ah. They are not the people of innovation, deviation and separation. (The Salafis) are those who have sound and correct principles. They do not return back to the ignorant, blind followers and pretenders of knowledge for the application of the principles (of the religion). (NO), rather, they follow the scholars. The Salafis follow the proofs and evidence even if it goes against their desires. The Salafis do not have any contradictions in their methodology. The Salafis are not those who profess to follow the truth yet when there comes a proof that is not in their favor (go against the truth by) resorting to loopholes so as to avoid following it; (and thus prefer) and resort to blind following. This (in fact), goes against the Salafy methodology. Rather, the (Salafis) are the people of proof; they follow it in truth, not screamingly nor deceptively.

The Salafis strive to have concern for each other like the example of one body. The Salafis work hard to unite the hearts and bodies upon the truth and guidance. (Thus), they are pained by that which causes pain to their brothers and sisters.

Salafiyyah is a methodology of truth and honesty, justice and purity of heart, sound intelligence and a methodology of love and mercy to those who are worthy of such. (This is because the Salafis) hate those who they are commanded to hate by the legislation.

My dear Salafy, don't wait for your brother to flip and change for the worst. Rather, be diligent in helping him stay steadfast upon the truth.

The Salafy (should) be one who pardons, overlooks and sees beyond (the shortcomings) of his brother who is a mirror for him.

Be from the people of the truth, those who aid the truth, and call to the truth, even if it is against themselves.

And Allah knows best.

The Ruling On Having A Dog

Imām Bin Bāz

It is not permissible to raise/keep a dog except for three (reasons): a hunting dog, a guard dog for herding livestock (and or protecting something) or a dog for farming, the Messenger of Allaah (ﷺ) said,
Whoever keeps a dog that is not a dog for hunting, herding livestock or farming, two qiraats will be deducted from his reward each day.
This is because keeping a dog is a means to filth, dirtying and harming the house due to it (i.e. the dog). The Prophet (ﷺ) ordered that a dish that is licked by a dog be washed seven times, one of which with dirt. So it is a must to stay away from this. Thus, staying away (from this affair is a must) except for the need of hunting, farming and guarding or herding livestock (or something valuable). As far as having them for other than these reason(s), is blind following and imitation of the Christians. So this is not permissible.

One Animal Will Suffice One Household

Imām ‘Uthaymīn
Al Fataawaa 41-25
Mujaahid Al Jamaykee

If a father has children and some of them are married, is the slaughtering of the father for his sons sufficient although some of them have wives?

If (all) the family are in the same house, it is sufficient to slaughter one animal (for everybody). If all those sons are in separate houses (of their own), it is upon each of them to slaughter (for their own households) because the slaughter of their father (in this case) is not sufficient for them.

Shaikh Abdur Rahmaan's Advice To Those Who Speak Bad About Shaikh Usaamah Al 'Utaybee

Author: Shaikh 'Abdur Rahman -Muhyiddin
Translator: Najeeb Al Anjelesi

Q: O beloved Shaikh, 'Abdur Rahman -Muhyiddin- some youth revile and warn against Sheikh Usamah Al-Utaybi, the question is do you advise (recommend) him, may Allah shower all good upon you?

After about 10 minutes the questioner texts: The speech amid the youth in this regard is plentiful within varying whatsapp groups. Thus we hope to receive from you some direction/guidance in this affair, may Allah reward you with good.

A little over an hour later -after no response- the questioner texts again saying: We would love direction/guidance from you O beloved sheikh, may Allah grant you a good ending.

A: All of this is a mistake that is not befitting for the students of knowledge, especially the salafis. This is verbal abuse -by name calling-, revilement, and insulting. The believer is not one who insults, defames, nor curses, and the intelligent person safeguards his tongue and heart. The Messenger -sallahu alayhi wa sallam- said: "Restrict your tongue" indeed the fruits of the tongue cause the servant to be dragged into the fire, and the Shaitan is diligent as it relates to the ruin, loss, and failure of the son of Adam in this worldly life, thus he -son of Adam- will come on the Day Of Resurrection bankrupt just as the trustworthy adviser informed us.

Therefore, my advice O beloved is to distance yourself from this name calling, and Allah is He who grants success.

Two Instances Of Shaykh Abdur Razzaaq Refuting Ahlul Bidah, In Refutation Of Arafaat's Claim That The Shaykh Doesn't Refute Ahl-Al-Bidah

Author: Shaykh Abdur-Razzāq Al-Badr
Translator: Abu Yusuf Khaleefah

The First Example:

The Noble Scholar Shaykh Abdur-Razzāq Al-Badr حفظه الله mentioned a story that's in the Book: "Tarīq Hijratayn" by Shaykhul-Islām Ibn Al-Qayyim رحمه الله exposing the evil Aqīdah of The Jabariyyah:

An example mention by Ibn Al-Qayyim in the book Tarīq Al-Hijratayn. He mentioned this as an example or a true story that has taken place. One of the Jabariyyah seen another man committing an act of evil with his wife (and the refuge is sought with Allāh from that). He grabbed something to beat the man with so the man fled. He caught hold of his wife and started to beat her. When he started to beat her she said: It was by the divine decree (that I was doing what I did with that man). Meaning that she was forced (by Allāh) to do what she did. He said: You are doing such and such (act of evil) and you say it was by the divine decree (of Allāh)?! This means he has left from his Aqīdah by way of him reprimanded her when he said: You are doing such and such (act of evil) and you say it was by the divine decree (of Allāh)?! She said: O so and so, fear Allāh, do not waste the Sunnah and do not take the position Ibn 'Abbās! He (Ibn Al-Qayyim) said: The man became sorry and stopped beating her. He said to her: May Allāh reward you with good, I was about go astray. Some of them, even in the likes of these matters, go about upon this evil corrupt Aqīdah that which is known by necessity from the religion of Allāh عز وجل, sound intellect and upright natural disposition that it is an Aqīdah that is from the most corrupt and misguided of beliefs. And it (is also known that this Aqīdah) is the furthest away from the truth and that which is correct.

The Second Example:

Q. There is an issue with the naming (of people) Wahhābi. What is upon us to say to the likes of these people who name Ahlus Sunnah wal-Jamā'ah with Wahhābiyyah?

A. Shaykhul-Islām Muhammad Ibn Abdil Wahhāb رحمه الله is a noble Imam from the Imams of Ahlis-Sunnah, a caller who brought about rectification and an Imam who was a reviver (of the correct practice of the religion). He didn't call to himself, rather, he only called to the Book of Allāh and the Sunnah of His Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم. Here we are reading his book 'The Book of Tawhīd' which is the right of Allāh upon the Servants. All of it is verses (from the Qurān) and Ahādīth (of the Prophet). He says: Chapter... then he mentions verses and Ahādith. Rather in some of the chapter headings, he makes it a verse from the Qurān just as he has done in this chapter heading which is with us. And the likes of this he has done in his books. Indeed he is only a caller to the Book of Allāh and the Sunnah of His Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم. He is a caller to the magnification of the Book and Sunnah. He is a caller to the implementation of the Book of Allāh and the Sunnah of His Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم, following the guidance of As-Salaf As-Sālih, prohibiting and warning against Ash-Shirk, Al-Bid'ah and acts of disobedience and it's different types. He is an Imam, reviver (of the religion) and a caller who brought about rectification. The likes of these nicknames that some people place upon others, they do this for the purpose of causing confusion to others and to keep them away from the truth and its people. And the one who Allāh has given success to be just in this matter and to stay away from the likes of these malicious/propagandistic claims and false speech, he will find that Imam Muhammad Ibn Abdil Wahhāb رحمه الله he is only similar to the leaders of Ahlil-'Ilm who traversed the path of As-Salaf As-Sālih, who magnified the Book of Allāh, who followed the guidance of the Messenger of Allāh صلى الله عليه وسلم, from those who warned against Bid'ah and evil desires.

Testimony Of Shaykh Rabee' As Witnessed By Shaykh Muhammad Bin Hādi And Dr. Abdur-Rahmān Al-'Umaysān

Translated by Abu Yusuf Khaleefah

The Noble Scholar Shaykh Muhammad bin Hādi حفظه الله stated: (The Noble Scholar) Shaykh Rabee حفظه الله said to me while it was him and I in his library in Madīnah when he first came:  "I know that Arafāt is behind this Fitan and Evil."

The Noble Scholar Shaykh Muhammad bin Hādi حفظه الله also said: (The Noble Scholar) Shaykh Rabee حفظه الله also said to me and Shaykh 'Abdur-Rahmān Al-'Umaysan حفظه الله was with me: "I know Arafāt is behind all of these problems and Fitan."

Shaykh 'Abdur-Rahmān Al-'Umaysan حفظه الله said regarding the statement of The Noble Scholar Shaykh Muhammad bin Hādi حفظه الله: "Yes, I bear witness to this."

Is this Speech Based Upon Mannerisms That Are Mufeedah O My Elder Brother Abā Khadeejah?!

Written by Abu Yusuf Khaleefah
Day of Arafah Dhul-Hijjah 1439 Hijri

Recently our elder Brother Abu Khadeejah from SPUBS has addressed the current Fitnah. From what's apparent in his speech and mentioning of events is that he's speaking about the Noble Scholar Shaykh Muhammad bin Hādi. Now in the event it is claimed that he is not speaking about/to Shaykh Muhammad; then obvious question must be asked, “Who are you talking to Abu Khadeejah?!" Abu Khadeejah (may Allāh rectify us and him) said,

"Why tearing up the ranks of Ahlus Sunnah in every country. In Algeria torn, in Libya torn, in Morocco torn, parts of America torn, parts of Canada torn, Holland torn, France torn apart, Indonesia torn apart, why? Because you decide to speak against a group of brothers without referring the affair to Ahlul-Ilm the Kibar. The Ulama that you learned from, that you studied with. They are in the position of your father, they are 40 years, 35 years, 30 years your senior, you were a boy and they were already scholars of this ummah. Why don't you refer to them? Why do you believe you need to go it alone, and you abandon, and you put the ulama to one side. Say Ya Shaykh why didn't you go to the 'Ulamā..."

In light of what's apparent in Abu Khadeejah’s address of the current Fitnah, there are some observations regarding the aforementioned speech, and with Allāh is the success:

1. Abu Khadeejah's tone was very disrespectful towards Shaykh Muhammad bin Hādi. Shaykh Muhammad is his elder and he is a Scholar from the Scholars of Ahlis-Sunnah who is to be respected and honored even when we differ with him and hold his view to be incorrect.

2. Salafis were split prior to this current situation. This is why the Scholars like Shaykh Rabee himself and others from the Mashaayikh of Ahlis-Sunnah were advising the Salafis around the world with stopping the differing and putting matters of differing behind us and start on a new page. Mashaayikh were addressing this issue of the splitting between the Salafis, however, Abu Khadeejah and company were putting on social media there is no differing amongst the Salafis and the Salafis are United etc... Yes, The Salafis are upon the same Aqīdah and Manhaj without a doubt, however, there was much differing around the world amongst the Salafis and the Mashaayikh were addressing it. Is this not a disregard for the words of the "Kibār"?!

3. Have Abu Khadeejah and his colleagues always consulted with the Kibār before they warned against anyone they have warned against from the Salafis?! Example: When Abu Muhammad Al-Maghribi warned against Abu Abdis-Salām at the Masjid Ar-Rahmah conference in Parsippany where was this speech of Abu Khadeejah, or was he silent due to him being in agreement?! Rather, it was said that Shaykh 'Ubayd was informed of what Abu Muhammad Al-Maghribi did. That's after the fact! Again, where was this speech about going to the Kibār first?!

4. How much separation was caused in different places due to their warnings against Salafis or is it considered to be clarifying the truth and purifying the ranks of the Salafis when they have issued warnings without first returning back to the Kibār?!

5. If returning back to the Kibār is the overall principle why do we find it being said on Social Media Accounts and Outlets the statement: Return back to the well known duat in the affairs of dawah? And as is well-known this includes warnings against other Salafis?! What are the guidelines of when do we return back to the Kibār Ulamā and when it is ok to return affairs back to the Kibār Duāt and Tullāb Al-'Ilm?

6. If Shaykh Muhammad bin Hādi is a Scholar in his own right, a person who can make Ijtihad, is it upon him to go back to those elder than him when he sees an evil has taken place and he's warning the Muslims against it?!

7. When Shaykh Muhammad bin Hādi spoke against Ibrahim Ar-Ruhaylī and they spread his speech, did they make sure that Shaykh Muhammad checked with the Kibār first before he spoke against Ibrahim Ar-Ruhaylī and then after that spread his speech?!

8. Did Arafat Muhammadi check with the Kibār before he warned/spoke against Shaykh Abdur-Razzāq?! Where is Abu Khadeejah's Khutbah/speech against Arafat?!

9. Where do we find in the history of Jarh wa Ta'deel, a scholar warning against people he deems to be evil, and then others criticizing him for not referring back to specific scholars before he warned, be they older or younger?

10. Warning against evil people is from commanding the right and forbidding the wrong, where is it in the Book and Sunnah where it says that one has to return back to one who is senior before commanding the right and forbidding the wrong and if he doesn't he's blameworthy?! Rather, the Prophet () said:

“Whoever among you sees an evil, let him change it with his hand; if he cannot, then with his tongue; and if he cannot, then with his heart, and that is the weakest of faith.” [Muslim]

11. Who from the Kibār did Amjad Rafiq return back to before using an unofficial court document that only the Hizbis have used to speak ill of Shaykh Muhammad?! None of the Kibār have used or even mentioned that document to show that Shaykh Muhammad doesn't refute with proofs and evidences. So again, who did Amjad refer to?!

12. When Abu Khadeejah and company took a stance against the Kuwaiti Mashaayikh, did they go to the most Senior of Scholars to them, -i.e. Shaykh Rabee’- before they took a stance?! And when they were advised by Shaykh Rabee to deal with the Mashaayikh of Kuwait did they act upon the advice?! If so, who from the Kuwaiti Mashaayikh were invited after the said advice? Who did they have a tele-link with? How was Shaykh Rabee's advice implemented, rather why wasn't it translated by them or those with them like the speech that's translated when Shaykh Rabee has mentioned Abu Khadeejah and company in a good light?!

13. When MPUBS continued to warn against Salafy Ink and company, even after Shaykh Rabee’ ordered that all warnings must stop and be taken offline, did they refer back to the Kibār to continue their warnings or do they believe that Abu Khadeejah and Company were/are the Kibār; thus, MPUBS were taking the matter back to them, getting the green light to continue to speak and warn against Salafis?!

14. How is it that Shaykh Muhammad bin Hādi was one of the Kibār with Abu Khadeejah and company who matters are referred back to, but now in this current situation he's referred to as boy when the other elders were Scholars?! What was he then and what is he now in comparison to Shaykh Muhammad bin Hādi who was declared to be a Scholar decades ago by Major Scholars?!

15. Even though Shaykh Muhammad differs with Shaykh Rabee’ on this current issue, when have we seen Shaykh Muhammad speak about Shaykh Rabee’ in the manner that Abu Khadeejah, Amjad Rafiq and others have spoken and speak about Shaykh Muhammad?!

16. Lastly, who from the Kibār did Abu Khadeejah refer back to before he publicly spoke out against Shaykh Muhammad regarding this current matter and if he said he did speak to one of them, where is the proof? What was the question and answer given to him regarding how he was going to address the matter etc?... Or is it that he and company believe they have a green light to say what they want and how they want about and to Shaykh Muhammad due to the fact that Shaykh Rabee’ opposes Shaykh Muhammad in this current matter?! If that's the case, it is said to them, “You all are not Shaykh Rabee or anyone else from the Kibār;” Shaykh Muhammad is still a Scholar from the Scholars and don't forget what you all have been saying when you or those affiliated with you have been critiqued on issues: The mistake is refuted but the honor of the Salafi is preserved, especially that of the Scholar!

May Allāh accept this, Aameen!
